Nose Stud 09 005 (2)

Who? – me

What? – a newly acquired tiny stud piercing

Where? – in the side of my nose

When? – last Friday night

Why? – see this post

Did it hurt?  Yes, but only briefly.  Kinda like getting a needle – a pinching stinging sensation for a second or two, followed immediately by a very minor dull throbbing for a few minutes, then nothing!

Do I like it?  Yes.

Any recommendations?  Yes

  • shop around to find a shop you’re comfortable with.  I visited about 3 before I made my decision.  You want it to be professional, clean and friendly.  You want them to be piercing experts – not hairstylist or retail store workers.
  • make sure they use a needle NOT a gun – a very important difference
  • watch them set up for your piercing to make sure all the instruments they are using are sterile
  • DO follow all their after-care instructions
  • don’t do it on a whim or you may regret it.  I had been thinking about it for awhile.  I did lots of internet research and spoke with several girls that already have one
  • make sure you like the stud your piercer is going to use because you’ll be stuck with it for several weeks while your piercing heals
  • bring someone with you for moral support.  Preferably someone with a strong hand that you can clench (or maybe that’s just me)

But that’s it.  I’m stopping now.  Don’t worry Mom – there won’t be anymore piercings.

Yayyyyy! I’m so proud of you! :) It looks great, Cher. You just inched me a little closer to doing it myself now.
