This past week a city in my area experienced a brazen crime.  A prisoner, that had previously sustained a gunshot injury during a shoot-out with police while he was performing an armed robbery some months ago, was attending a local hospital for an appointment.

As the prisoner and two jail guards were leaving the hospital, two masked gunmen overpowered the guards, ordered them to the ground, and fled with with the prisoner.

Pretty bold.  Very daring.  Would make a good movie scene.  These guys had both guns AND balls.  A very dangerous combination.  They are clearly real bad-asses.

But three out of the four have now been arrested.  Within 4 days.  All arrested IN THE SAME TOWN WHERE THIS TOOK PLACE.

Is it just me?  Do you not find that strange?  Clearly criminals aren’t that smart – agreed.  But really?  In the same town?

I’ve spent some time pondering this before.  IF I were to commit one of the biggie crimes I would certainly not stick around.  Unlikely many stupid criminals, you would not find me at home.  You would not find me at my Mother’s house.  You would not find me at the local booze-can.  You would not find me at a friend’s house.  No.  You would not find me.  Period.

Because as soon as I had committed that crime, and realized what I had done, I would get the hell out of Dodge!

I would run straight for the airport.  Before they even had a chance to figure out who did it, let alone issue an alert.  I would fly as far away as possible and never look back.   I’d hole up in a tiny rural Swiss village somewhere.  I’d cut and dye my hair immediately and enjoy gaining tons of weight to alter my appearance.

Not that I’m planning anything.  I’m just saying.
