I like spam – really I do!  Spam can be very interesting.  Although I do use Akismet to filter it out so that my readers don’t have to deal with it, I must admit that I read it all.

Do you how many different products are sold through spam?!  A lot.  That’s how many.  These spammers have nothing on the telemarketers!

Spam also helps you expand your knowledge of different languages.  Sometimes, I can’t even figure out for the life of me what language a particular sales pitch is in.

And who knew that there are so many Spammers in the world?  Have I missed that boat on a new career?  Are these people quietly pulling in the big bucks?  Should I be looking into a spamming course for myself?

But mostly I find that spam is polite.  And sometimes helpful.  Like this lovely message I received the other day. . .

“If you’re in a not good position and have got no cash to go out from that, you would require to take the loans.  Just because it would aid you for sure.  I take short term loan every year and feel myself great because of that.”

First of all, how brave of this unknown person to admit to me that he/she has been experiencing financial troubles.  Very brave indeed.

And yes – I think I WOULD like to “take the loans” because I would also like to “feel myself great”.  Thank you SO much!  This is exactly what I’ve been looking for.  All this time I thought it was The Chocolate or The New Clothes or maybe even The Sleep that would make me feel great.  Turns out it’s simply The Loans.

I think I just might email this guy back.

Do you read your spam or just hit delete?  What’s your favourite spammy product pitch?  Got any good product ideas for when I launch my spam company?

I leave the spam on my blog. It doesn’t do any harm right? Plus it’s an extra comment. It still counts.

I went looking for one of my favourites, but couldn’t find it. Most of them are just symbols I can’t read.

Any opportunity that you have to “feel yourself great” should be taken! Life is just too short!

I’m so glad you just mentioned Akismet because it reminded me to download the plug-in. A few spammers have been able to sneak by me over the past couple of days. Not anymore!

I read it because you never know when someone might be offering something to make you feel good like discount solar panels.

Oh *sigh*…here I thought that I had made the Big Time as a blogger because of getting negative anonymous comments…but I’m not being spammed. Well, OK, I was ONCE but not on a regular basis. But the one time I was spammed it was because of some keyword in an open letter I did on my blog that I’m sure prompted a spam alert about cable television. And I deleted it. But Jess gets spam in Chinese and that’s WICKED cool!! (Which reminds me…did you know there’s an app from iTunes on learning Chineses?? OK sorry…digressing. I’m pumped full of Dayquil right now). Anysnot, I think perhaps all of us who sit in our jammies and post things online all day have missed out on mega bucks by not being spammers. BUT I also think that is bad Karma and I’m not a fan of bad Karma. As soon as I get spammed on a regular basis, I will come back and get this filtering software you speak of.

Until then…I’m kind of hungry…for Spam.

Well, anon spammers are really killing me as of late. And, personally, I think there’s a special place in Hell for them. I’m having to delete at least 5/day… which means I’m about to change the conditions of leaving a comment.

OMG. you are so right on. this is why we should like spammers. they boost our intelligence by making me feel awesomely smart and good about myself. and who needs rosetta stone when you have spammers teaching you all sorts of new languages.

Yes – this is what I’m saying! Maybe us Bloggers need to change our attitude about spam. Maybe it’s not the big bad devil we all assume it is. Perhaps there’s a learning opportunity buried in it somewhere. Well, maybe. Or maybe not.

Whew. When I read the title I thought you were going to talk about the Hormel Spam that you eat. All I could think was “please tell me she doesn’t eat Spam?! That stuff is nasty.” I know because I ate it as a kid and it’s made right here in Minnesota. So proud. Anyway, don’t eat the Spam. Also, don’t reply to the spam.

I read spam every now and then… they do usually advertise some interesting medicines. LOL

If one is to go by spam, there are an awful lot of men out there experiencing…dysfunction of sorts. Also, there are apparently a lot of people in need of antidepressants. I can only guess one is tied to another. If people just had more sex, it would be such a happy world. Then, if everyone invested with the Nigerian spammers, it would be such a RICH, happy world.

My blog gets 20 spam posts a day sometimes, but I never allow them to show. The funniest ones are telling me how well written my information is, how I am an expert, and the best around – totally sucking up. When the “information” is about how I wanted it to snow at christmas, it’s not really very relevant.

But they all link out to what they are actually spamming. I won’t tolerate that kind of underhand advertising.

Also, Bali tourism is spamming my blog. It’s very strange.

Go ahead - leave me a comment. I dare you.
