(no, those are NOT my shadows.  I don’t exercise.  Ever.  I found this on Google Images)

The other day, I stumbled upon this article.  It’s brief.  Don’t be afraid to click it.

Okay, fine, Miss Lazy.  I’ll save you the trouble!

Here’s the jist.  And I quote;

“repetitive mirthful laughter causes the body to react as though you’ve been engaging in moderate physical exercise.”

ah-ha!  I KNEW it!  All this blog surfing is finally going to pay off.  I read your funny stories, I laugh, I lose weight.  This, my friends, is a win-win situation.

Which must be why I continue to read your wonderfully funny blog posts everyday.

Even those days that I don’t write one myself.  Days that I’m just too darn busy to squeeze it in.  Days that I just don’t feel particularly funny or creative.  Days that I wonder why I even blog in the first place.  Days that I wonder how long I’ll continue to do it.  Days that I wonder if it’s just a waste of my time that could be better spent doing something else.  Days that I admit to myself that I’ll likely never get to met any of the awesome “friends” I’ve made in the cyber world – or get to Graceland for that matter.  Days that blogging feels a little more like work and a little less like enjoyment.

Just know that I read you everyday.  Sometimes I don’t even comment.  But I read.  And I laugh.

Because I need my daily exercise.  Badly.

Do you ever question your blogging?  Ever experienced a “dry spell” in your writing?  Do you hate exercise as much as I do?

I haven’t been to the gym in a few days, so this makes me feel a lot better. I have to work at an event with a terrible band tonight, so there is sure to be much laughter.

Sometimes I feel like I might be about to experience a dry spell, but then something pops up that I can write about. I think you can usually tell when I’m grasping at straws though.

Well then, I lose weight every day after reading your blog! You are a continuous means of weight loss for me :)

This is great news for me too! Being that there are several days that my only ‘exercise’ consists of blog reading!! Ha…

What a relief! I was sitting here telling myself I need to get my sorry ass outside for a run this morning and I see this.

    Thank you, Cher. Thank you.

And you better NEVER leave or stop blogging. For reals.

Well, this is good news, since I planned on sitting on my ass and watching movies tonight…I guess I’ll have to watch a comedy to make up for not going to the gym!

I question blogging all the time. I ask myself the same EXACT same questions you do. Sometimes it’s fun but sometimes it definitely feels like more work than it’s worth. And it’s such a time suck. And I don’t have any extra time. ok…off to re-evaluate my priorities.

I so get what you mean. Blogging can be a huge time suck. Especially when you nuture those friendships. I have dry spells and doubts. And sometimes I feel so pressured to bring the funny.

I’ve been using laughing as exercise for years. It’s also great for your mental health. And I can’t imagine being married to someone who didn’t make me laugh often. In the long run, laughter’s really better than sex. (Did I say that?)

I’m fairly new to blogging so my biggest concern is attracting an audience & getting comments. The first comment I got was spam, but I was so desperate to believe it was real that I replied to it. So embarrassing when I think about it!

Yay laughter! I sometimes have dry spells and days where I’m just too busy to get down and write up a post but eventually I always get back to it. (You know, for the exercise.)

And finally my uncontrollable laughter is good for something! LOL

Yes to all three. Obviously I need a personal trainer and a ghostwriter. But perhaps I should first get a better paying job. Or just dip into the kid’s college fund. One or the other.

if a good belly laugh is excercise, then life is sweet! I’ll just keep the comedy channel on full time!

Maybe that’s why my kids are so skinny. Oh, you said laughter not screaming? Nevermind.

Go ahead - leave me a comment. I dare you.
