I’ve been in a funk for the past week. For no apparent reason. Just one of those things that happens from time to time I suppose. Hormones? Lunar cycles? Pollen? Who knows. I certainly have nothing to be funky about – health is good, kids are fine, job is still paying, weather has been great, even the husband is in the good books!
And yet the funk. Which, frankly, is getting kind of annoying.
I figure if I go about doing regular things then maybe I’ll start to feel regular again, instead of this increasing desire to run away and join the circus. Clearly I’d look terrible in tights, a top hat or a clowns costume, so that’s just not an option.
So, rather than continue to wallow in my own melancholy, I decided that maybe I could try to happy myself up a little with a new summer haircut this weekend.
I’m really happy with it, so if you’re not – please keep it to yourself.
Now, if you’ll pardon my spotty posting and commenting, I’ll do my best to get back on track sooner rather than later.
And in the meantime, I’ll be in the backyard practicing riding a unicycle and training lions – just in case.

The new hair definitely has you ready for Summer. It’s great.
It won’t get you a gig as a clown, but if you work hard enough you might be able to be an acrobat. I think of all the circus folk, acrobats have the most respectable hair.

Looks great! I think I need to follow your lead and do the same, kind of had the feeling recently too – what’s it all about – I seem to have a bit of a cold at the moment so hopefully some cold rememdies and a new hair cut will do the trick. Hope you’re feeling a bit less funky soon.

Super cute! New hair usually gets me out of my funks. Or shopping. Or getting my nails done. Any form of spending money on myself, really.

Getting my hair did always makes me feel better. And so does shopping. I definitely vote for a shopping trip.

Great haircut! Imagine all the great blog posts we might get if you joined the circus. I’d be the lady who rides the elephant cause she gets cool outfits and great hair. Just a thought.. LOL

And who says you’d look bad in tights? You’re pretty thin, so i don’t think you could look all that bad. Maybe a circus should be in your future… ?!

Sooo cute! I actually did the same thing two months ago. Mine looked a lot like your before pic…layered and to the shoulder. Now it’s grown out and right now it looks like crap…it’s really humid so it’s frizzy. I’m cutting it again on Saturday. Can’t wait.
I was in a funk about two weeks ago. It was annoying and hasn’t totally left. Good luck and I hope you get happier again soon!

Sorry you’ve been down. I know what you mean, yet I have few words of advice. This too shall pass…in the meantime, cut yourself some slack and don’t worry about doing anything you don’t really HAVE to do.

The weather in your neck of the woods is GORGEOUS! I came home Monday (after 5 days of sun and 28 degrees) to 10 degrees and rain, talk about a kick in the teeth!
