I’m embarrassingly late in doing this post.  I have no excuse.  It’s purely procrastination on my part.

I’ve received 4 very prestigious and well deserved awards (at least that’s what I tell my family) since the start of the year.  In fact, you can find my entire award portfolio here on my “Trophies” page.  Clearly I’m awesome.

January ’10

From Meredith at (Flash) Pasteurized . . .

From Shandal at My Life in 3D . . .

February ’10

From Julie at Life on a Hanger who said  “because I’ve been reading her since I started my blog and she’s an amazing hawt mama who gives good advice and has hysterical stories and photo-documenting skillz.”  I couldn’t agree more.

March ’10

From Lucy at A Modern Day Ricky and Lucy . . .

Thanks so much girls!  Each of you is also a stunning and very happy mermaid!

Not being one to live life by others rules (so not true) I am going to just go ahead and buck the system.  I will not be passing each award on to ten others, or supplying you with what would only be a boring list of my favourite things.

Instead I’m just going to tell you about 4 of my recently discovered blog gems that are quickly become some of my favourites.  These 4 girls can choose whichever one of the above awards they like best and pass on the magic.

1) Kate at And Then I Was A Mom – I love her blog almost as much as I love the comments she leaves on mine.  This girl is funny stuff.

2) Allyson at Magnolias and Mimosas – another very funny girl with awesome comments.  And she makes jewelery.  She’s clever AND creative.  I love her already.

3) Jessalyn at Cape Cod Awesome – because she really is awesome.  She’s not just saying that.  She finds the craziest ads on Craigslist and can photoshop like nobody’s business.

4) The Apartment Manager’s Blog – these stories are unbelievable.  But I believe them.  Because you just can’t make this stuff up.

Okay gang.  There you go.  Head on over to visit these 4 blogs.  You won’t be disappointed.

Oh – and tell them I sent you.  Maybe they’ll send me cookies or something (chocolate chip are preferred – in case you were wondering – thanks).

Dec 14

This past week I received not one, but TWO bloggy awards from two of my cool new bloggy friends.

First, from A Day in the Life of a Surferwife who, by the way, appears to have a really nice house AND lives somewhere permanently warm – which are certainly two characteristics I appreciate in a friend.

She said:  “To The Only Girl because she needs girly feminism in her life.  She is surrounded by males and is forced to blog about her slutty nutcracker doll.  Oh, and she’s a hoot.”

In turn I’m going to award this one to Stepford Stories.  She’s a super busy sports mom who also knows her politics and has some crazy family stories that I just can’t get enough of.  Be sure to check her, and her new review site, out!

——————————————————————————————————————————————

And from The Fox Den who may or may not have been my BFF in High School.  If we had gone to the same High School.  Cause we’re just that cool.  Yeah.

She said: “And to Cher at The Only Girl because she totally gets me. And we may or may not email back and forth about how we’re sitting together at the cool kid’s table in the lunchroom and just may skip last period to hang at the mall. Yeah, we’re cool like that.”

I’m going to pass this one of to Life on a Hanger .  She’s a cool chick who also lives in a warm place.  I’m trying to figure out how to send her a snowman – but so far, no ideas.  Be sure to check her out!

Now I’m going to put these up on my “Trophies” page.  Where I will keep them forever.  And stare at them when I’m feeling sad.  And maybe even have them made into throw cushions.  Or tattoos.

Oct 16

I’m so stoked!  Yesterday I received a great honor.  A feather in my cap, if you will.  My bloggy friend/twin over at A Modern Day Ricky and Lucy bestowed me with my very first blog award!  An award!  Can you believe that?!?!  And I’m in very good company.  I already follow two of the others on her list (Stepford Stories and Nie Nie Dialogues – who by the way, was on Oprah last week – she’s the mother that had been in the fiery plane crash).  You can click the link above to go to Lucy’s site and read the nice things she said about us.  I think I’ll have it framed.  Or maybe made into a pillow cover.

I may not get paid to do this . . . but they do give out awards!  And I was very chuffed.  Here’s the acceptance speech I posted on her site:

“Get OUT! My very first award?! I’m thrilled. Thrilled I tell you!  First I’d like to thank Lucy, for the great honor, for her kind words and for making my day. And of course all the other people that made this day possible. Wait – that’s just me. Okay. Then I’d like to thank any of you who have been kind enough to drop by my blog and hang out with me.  I’m off to get a celebratory coffee! It’s gonna be a good day!”

Now the rules of said award state that I must:

a) accept the award (done)
b) post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link (done)
c) pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered (remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award)

Yes, it’s kinda like the chain letter of the blogging world.  But I’m happy to share with you the list of bloggers that I look forward to reading each day (except that I’ve shortened my list to 10, because I go for quality not quantity).

Okay, so here’s my list of blogs I have recently discovered (and now love), in no particular order . . .

Mommy Wants Vodka

Mom to the Screaming Masses

Belle & Nel

BooMama

Diary of a Mad Bathroom

Pajamas and Coffee

Smiling Through It All

Speaking from the Crib

Bye Bye Pie

More Mo

And I love each of them for different reasons.  Some are just plain funny.  Some are a little crazy.  But they’re all great.  Congrats girls!  Keep up the good work!
